Want to try out narrative technique based on pictures – Revise vocabulary taught during the English class

Students study and learn vocabulary items related to Odysseus adventures, then use this knowledge to carry out relevant tasks.

Timetable fit

This is the sixth in a series of units, dealing with Odysseus return voyage to Ithaca.

Group profile

There are 26 students in class, 13 boys and 13 girls.

Duration

One (1) teaching hour [45 minutes]

Assumptions

Students are pre-elementary (A1) level English learners. They have enough of the key vocabulary already to discuss mythology, as well as start writing short relevant texts.

Anticipated problems and solutions

Learners may be unsure of some key vocabulary in the presented videos; therefore, a powerpoint presentation, together with a  related language task, will facilitate learning.
