Educational aims

items related to ancient Greek gods, then use this knowledge to create their
own material.
Timetable fit
This is an introductory unit, the first in a series of units, dealing
with ancient Greek myths.
Group profile
There are 26 students in class, 13 boys and 13 girls.
Duration
One (1) teaching hour [45 minutes]
Assumptions
Students are pre-elementary (A1) level English learners. They don’t have
enough of the key vocabulary to discuss mythology and their writing is
imprecise therefore needs work.
Anticipated problems and solutions
Learners may be unsure of some key vocabulary in the presented videos;
therefore a brainstorming activity at the beginning as well as a powerpoint
presentation to follow, together with related language games, will facilitate
learning.
